An Ode To Mason

I'd like to tell you about the inspiration for my blog.

Presenting Mr. Mason H, esquire!

Mason and I have been friends since the distant era of year 9.

We've traveled through many things in our partnership, from slightly dodgy ethics lessons to really dodgy drama exams! We've partied on beaches, laughed over Italian and he has been a continuing and unwavering source of support for me.

Those of you who know me well will know that I can be a bit rubbish at keeping in contact! (a bit being a mild under exaggeration). Mason has messaged me countless numbers of times and received no answer. To any average Joe this is a clear signal to leave someone alone, but Mason, Mason knows better. If I don't answer on Tuesday I get the same 'How are you today?' on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and practically every day until I respond! Mason doesn't give up, and, when I'm ready we enjoy what is usually a sparkling conversation. If there's one thing I love about Mason, besides his charm, wit and all round brilliant personality, it's his unfailing loyalty.

Mason is never fed up of waiting for a response, he's never angry that I've taken over 2 weeks to respond to one simple message, Mason makes the seasons seem in a hurry and is the most patient person I know and I am so thankful for his silent support throughout the years.

Anyway, enough of me gushing over how wonderful my friend is, how did he inspire me to write?

I am not a writer. Sure, I can string together a sentence and enjoy scrawling the odd poem into a notebook but would much rather paint the scene with actual paint than words! Mason, however, has always been a writer. For as long as I've known Mason he's had a notebook (or several!) weighing down his bag, crammed full of ideas and thoughts that I hope one day will make their way out to the public and inspire a generation or two! Mason, being both a brilliant writer and inspiring figure writes a lovely blog about his life, it was simply this that inspired me to start my blog. Seeing how open and brave Mason is in his blog made me - a die hard visual artist- want to write. So cheers to Mason, life long friend and inspiration!
